Dr Andrew Morris studied at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and the Oxford School of Clinical Medicine. After training in general paediatrics he undertook research on defects of mitochondrial oxidation. His PhD was supervised by Professor Turnbull in Newcastle and he completed his metabolic training at the Institute of Child Health, London.
Dr Morris has worked on inborn errors of metabolism for 24 years and was Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Newcastle (1996-2001), Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, (2001-3) and at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital (since 2003). He is currently a Consultant in Paediatric Metabolic Medicine at the Willink Unit. In addition to providing a clinical service, he is active in teaching and research, primarily on disorders of fatty acid oxidation and the mitochondrial respiratory chain.
